Removal and installation of the upper intake manifold

Remove the upper intake manifold in the following order:

- Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery;

- Dismantle an upholstery of the engine and an inlet air line. To do this, unscrew the screws 1 (pic. 313) covers, disconnect two hoses 2 of the crankcase ventilation system, release the hose clamp 3 and remove the intake air duct. Disconnect the brake booster lines from the top manifold;

- Remove the throttle cable support. To do this, depress the clamp and hang the two cable pulls. Loosen the three screws and remove the support;

- remove or dismantle all visible multi-pin connectors and other nearby parts - idle valve plug and throttle position sensor, low pressure hose from the AGR valve, unscrew the AGR valve and remove the gasket;

- Disconnect the crankcase ventilation system hose;

- Disconnect the multicontact connector and the low pressure hose from the vacuum regulator;

- release the intake manifold (pic. 314) and remove the manifold. Remove and discard gasket.

Install in reverse order. Tighten the screws in reverse order to 10 Nm.
