Removing and installing the upper intake manifold (Mondeo 2)

Remove the upper intake manifold in the following order:

- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;

- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;

- remove the engine trim and the air intake duct. To do this, unscrew the screws 1 (Fig. 313) of the cover, disconnect the two hoses 2 of the engine crankcase ventilation system, release the clamp 3 of the hose and remove the air intake duct. Disconnect the brake booster pipes from the upper manifold;

- remove the throttle cable support. To do this, press the clamp and hang the two cable rods. Unscrew the three screws and remove the support;

- remove or dismantle all visible multi-pin connectors and other nearby parts - idle air valve and throttle position sensor plug, low pressure hose from the AGR valve, unscrew the AGR valve and remove the gasket;

- disconnect the engine crankcase ventilation hose;

- Disconnect the multi-pin connector and low pressure hose from the vacuum regulator;

- Disconnect the multi-pin connector and low pressure hose from the vacuum regulator;

- release the intake manifold fastening (Fig. 314) and remove the manifold. Remove and discard the gasket.

Install in reverse order. Tighten the screws in reverse order to 10 Nm.
