Replacement of a back sealing ring of a cranked shaft

            0

Gearbox, engine flywheel, clutch or drive pulley (in automatic transmission) must be removed if the O-ring needs to be replaced.

To remove the ring, two small holes must be drilled in the ring. Then screw two screws into them and carefully squeeze the ring (with a screwdriver and pliers).

Pic. 112. Installing the gland

Lubricate the working edges of the sealing ring and the surfaces of the crankshaft with oil and insert into the shaft housing. For installation, a plate is used, which is fixed to the crankshaft flange with two screws. By uniformly tightening the screws, the radial sealing ring is pressed in, the process continues until the plate rests against the crankshaft flange. On fig. 112 illustrates this operation. Similarly, it is carried out on this engine.

After installing the O-ring, mount the flywheel and tighten the screws evenly around the circumference to 80 Nm. Install the clutch (see related section) and gearbox.
