2. Loosen the lower mounting bolts and the upper tension bolt of the generator, tilt the generator towards the engine and remove the drive belt.
3. Unscrew the pulley mounting bolt on the crankshaft, for which it is necessary to fix the engine flywheel, having first removed the lower clutch housing or starter for free access to the flywheel.
4. Remove the pulley from the crankshaft.
5. Remove the front crankshaft seal ring.
6. Clean the sealing ring seat thoroughly.
7. Install a new sealing ring and pulley onto the crankshaft journal and, while tightening the pulley mounting bolt, press the sealing ring into the seat.
8. Loosen the pulley mounting bolt again, remove the pulley and apply a layer of grease to the surface of the pulley that contacts the sealing ring, then install the pulley in place and secure it with a bolt.
9. Install the lower clutch cover or starter.
10. Install the generator drive belt and adjust its tension.
11. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
