Engine installation

1. Place the engine with gearbox under the engine compartment of the vehicle, hook it with a lifting mechanism and, being careful, raise it to a position where you can install the left front support mounting bolt. Install the pad and support cup under the bracket and tighten the nut.

2. Screw anti-roll bar mounts to body.

3. Install the front and rear transmission mounting bolts and tighten to the specified torque.

4. Install a new retaining ring on the left drive shaft and insert the shaft into the gearbox until the shaft is clearly fixed.

5. Install and secure the left lower front suspension arm.

6. Install a new retaining ring on the right drive shaft and insert the shaft into the gearbox until the shaft is clearly fixed.

7. Install and secure the right lower front suspension arm.

8. Install stabilizer to gearbox.

9. Using a pin with a diameter of 3.5 mm, fix the gear lever by inserting it into the hole at the bottom of the gear selector box. Install, adjust if necessary and tighten the shift rod with the clamping bolt. To set the same gaps, put the axle of the gear lever in the fourth gear position and rotate it clockwise until it stops. In this position, tighten the clamping bolt and remove the pin.

10. Install the shift rod return spring.

11. Connect wires to starter and ground wire to engine.

12. Install the exhaust system, screw the exhaust pipe to the manifold and install the heated air intake.

13. Connect the clutch release cable to the lever on the gearbox.


14. Install the hose connecting the intake manifold to the vacuum brake booster.

15. Connect previously tagged wires to alternator, radiator fan, coolant temperature sensor, reversing light switch, and idle solenoid valve.

16. Insert the speedometer drive cable into the gearbox and tighten with the union nut.

17. Install the throttle cable and coolant supply hose to the carburetor automatic choke control on the carburetor.

18. Connect the engine cooling hoses.

19. Pour oil into the engine and gearbox.

20. Pour coolant into the engine cooling system.

21. Connect the wires to the battery.

22. Install the hood and connect the windshield washer pipes.

23. Install the air filter and connect the hoses.

24. Start the engine, check and, if necessary, adjust the angle of the closed state of the breaker contacts, ignition timing, engine idle speed and CO content.
