Removing the engine

            0

The engine is removed from the car along with the gearbox from under the car. If the gearbox is previously removed, the engine is removed from the engine compartment upwards.

1. Remove ground wire from battery.

2. Remove the hood after disconnecting the windshield washer tubes and noting the position of the hood hinges.

3. Engage fourth gear to facilitate subsequent selector adjustment.

4. Remove the air filter by first unscrewing the 2 screws securing the filter cover and disconnecting the crankcase ventilation hose from the oil filler cap, as well as the vacuum hose from the intake manifold.

5. Drain the engine coolant by disconnecting the lower hose on the radiator and opening the cap on the thermostat housing.

6. Remove the upper radiator hose and outlet tube from the thermostat housing (1 - heater hose, 2 - hose from the expansion tank, 3 - radiator hose).

7. Remove the coolant supply hose to the carburetor automatic choke control.

8. Remove the carburetor throttle cable by first unplugging the spring clip and unscrewing the bracket.

9. Remove the fuel line from the fuel pump.

10. Remove the hose connecting the intake manifold to the vacuum brake booster.

11. Disconnect and tag wires from alternator, starter, radiator fan, coolant temperature sensor, reversing light switch, and idle solenoid valve.

12. Disconnect the wires from the ignition coil.

13. Remove the clutch cable from the clutch release lever.

14. Remove the transmission ventilation pipe from the side member.

15. Remove the transmission case breather hose.

16. Remove the heated air intake and exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

17. Remove the exhaust system by disconnecting the rubber holders from the body.

18. Loosen the clamping bolt at the end of the shift rod and remove the rod (1) from the gear select shaft by moving it away from the gearbox. Using a soft wire, hang the rod on the steering gear. Remove the stabilizer bolt (2) to the gearbox and use a soft wire to hang the stabilizer to the steering mechanism.

19. Drain the oil from the gearbox by carefully unscrewing the gear selector shaft retainer.

Attention! Under the shaft lock there is a locking pin and a spring that must be removed.

20. Remove both transverse arms, while first unscrewing the mounting bolt on the bracket, and then the nut on the ball joint while holding the Torx bolt from turning with a wrench.

21. Remove ball joint from steering knuckle.

22. Remove both drive shafts from the gearbox and hang them on the steering rods with a soft wire. To do this, insert a pry bar or a screwdriver between the CV joint and the crankcase, and while the assistant pulls the car wheel outward with force, dislodge the drive shaft from the side gear with a strong sharp blow on the end of the mount.

23. Instead of the removed drive shafts, insert plastic or wooden plugs to fix the differential side gears. The diameter of the plugs is 22 mm.

24. Hook the cable to the engine lugs and, without lifting the engine, tension the cable so that its entire weight is taken up by the lifting device.

25. Unscrew the through bolts of the engine mounts.

26. Remove the anti-roll bars from both sides of the front suspension together with the lower arms, after unscrewing the four bolts.

27. Unscrew the mounting bolts from the cross member and mudguard, together with the bracket holding the coolant hose.

28. Lower the engine with the gearbox down and remove it from under the car. To remove the engine, it is necessary that the height at which the vehicle is (or the depth of the inspection hole) was at least 690 mm.

29. Unscrew the starter mounting bolts and remove it.

30. Unscrew the 2 bolts and remove the clutch housing cover.

31. Unscrew the bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine and move the gearbox away from the engine until the splines of the driven disc hub disengage from the input shaft.
