2. Install the distributor and adjust the ignition timing.
3. Clean the surface of the cylinder block in contact with the oil filter, lubricate the oil filter seal with oil. Screw in the new filter element until the rubber seal contacts the block, then tighten an additional 3/4 turn.
4. Screw in the oil pressure switch and tighten it according to the tightening torque. Install the engine support brackets.
Fuel injected engine
5. Install the parts in their original places, make sure that their initial adjustment does not change.
Carburetor engines
6. Insert the fuel pump rod into the cylinder block, install the insulating gasket, fuel pump and mounting bolts.
7. Install carburetor.
8. Connect the engine breather tube to the valve cover and the fuel line between the fuel pump and carburetor.
9. Install the automatic air damper to the drain hose and the bypass hose to the thermostat housing.
All engines
10. Install alternator and adjust drive belt tension.
11. Install the power steering pump idler pulley bracket to the front of the engine with two bolts.
12. Install the power steering pump and adjust the drive belt tension.
13. Install exhaust manifolds.
