The steps to remove these engines are essentially the same as for 2.8 dm³ engines (see subsection 3.3.3). The following differences should be noted.
1. Remove the hoses located between the thermostat housing, the water pump and the expansion tank of the cooling system.
2. Remove the heater hoses that are located between the thermostat housing or coolant distribution pipe and the oil cooler.
3. Remove the hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
4. Remove the hose from the collection chamber.
5. Remove the hose from the throttle valve.
6. Remove the hose from the T-connector.
7. Remove the accelerator cable from the control arm and suspension.
8. Remove the right exhaust pipe from the manifold, then remove the starter, oil filter, and remove the left exhaust pipe in the same order.
