Engine installation

Engine installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, but, in addition, pay attention to the following points:

• lightly lubricate the input shaft of the manual gearbox;
• on vehicles with a manual transmission, check that the clutch release lever is correctly positioned and hold it in this position using a wire or rubber strip to prevent it from moving while the engine is being installed;
• on vehicles with automatic transmission, check that the torque converter is fully connected to the oil pump;
• adjust the tension of the drive belts of the power steering pump, the belts of the generator and the coolant pump;
• fill the cooling system and the power steering system, and then fill the engine with oil.
