Engine installation (Scorpio 1)

The engine is installed in the reverse order of removal, but in addition, pay attention to the following points:

• lightly lubricate the manual transmission input shaft;
• on vehicles with a manual transmission, check that the clutch release lever is correctly positioned and hold it in this position using a wire or rubber strip to prevent it from moving while the engine is being installed;
• on vehicles with automatic transmission, check that the torque converter is fully connected to the oil pump;
• adjust the tension of the power steering pump drive belts, alternator belts and coolant pump;
• fill the cooling system and the power steering system, and then add oil to the engine.
