If the engine does not start and the starter does not rotate

If your model is equipped with an automatic transmission, make sure the selector is in the "R" or "N".

Open the hood and make sure the battery terminal clamps are clean and secure.

Turn on the headlights and try to start the engine. If the headlights become very weak when the starter is turned on, it is likely that the battery is discharged. This trouble can be easily overcome by starting the engine from another battery in another car, for example from your friend's car.

If the engine does not start even though the starter is running

Is there fuel in the tank?

Are the electrical components under the hood damp?

Switch off the ignition and wipe all suspicious places with a dry cloth. Spray water-absorbent spray (like WD-40) on the connectors of the electrical circuits of the ignition system and the fuel system. Pay special attention to the high voltage wires and the ignition coil.

Make sure the electrical connectors are making good contact (with the ignition off). If you suspect dampness problems, spray them with a water-absorbing spray like WD-40.
