If the engine does not start and the starter does not turn

If your model has an automatic transmission, make sure the selector is in the "P" or "N" position.

Open the hood and make sure the battery terminal clamps are clean and tight.

Turn on the headlights and try to start the engine. If the headlights become very dim when you turn on the starter, then most likely the battery is discharged. This problem can be easily overcome by starting the engine from another battery of another car, for example from your friend's car.

Is there fuel in the tank?

Are the electrical components under the hood damp?

Turn off the ignition and wipe all suspicious areas with a dry cloth. Spray a water-absorbing aerosol (like WD-40) on the connectors of the electrical circuits of the ignition system and fuel system. Pay special attention to the high-tension wires and the ignition coil.

Make sure that the electrical connectors have good contact (with the ignition off). If you suspect that moisture may be causing problems, spray them with a water-absorbing aerosol such as WD-40.
