The closed crankcase ventilation system is designed to relieve the pressure of gases breaking through into the crankcase. The system operates by sucking in a certain amount of air during engine operation and by operating the crankcase ventilation valve.
The system is known as the Positive Crankcase Ventilation System, the advantage of the system is that when the blow-by of gases exceeds the capacity of the valve of the said system, the excess amount of gases is directed into the engine through the air cleaner.
Every 30,000 km, remove the valve and hose from the right head cover and wash the valve in solvent. Check if the valve moves freely. Install the valve in place.
Check the condition of the system's connecting hoses and whether the connections are tight.
