Temporary bolt to install intermediate plate
1. Install the thrust ring on the camshaft (1) rounded side first and key (2).
2. Lubricate bearings, camshaft and thrust flange.
3. Carefully insert the camshaft from the front and install the thrust flange and self-locking fixing bolts. Tighten the screws according to the tightening torque.
4. Install the timing gear cover guide bushings and O-rings onto the crankcase. With rounded ends, the guide bushings are installed to the outer part of the crankcase in the direction of the timing cover.
5. Check that the mating surfaces of the crankcase and front intermediate plate are clean, then apply sealant to both surfaces. Install the gasket to the crankcase, then install the spacer plate.
6. Install the two center bolts and tighten them by hand, then temporarily install two more bolts. Tighten the central mounting bolts, remove the temporarily installed bolts.
