Temporary bolt for installing the intermediate plate
1. Install the thrust ring (1) with the rounded side forward and the key (2) on the camshaft.
2. Lubricate the bearings, camshaft and thrust flange.
3. Carefully insert the camshaft from the front and install the thrust flange and self-locking mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified tightening torque.
4. Install the timing cover guide bushings and O-ring seals on the crankcase. The rounded ends of the guide bushings are installed toward the outside of the crankcase in the direction of the timing cover.
5. Check that the mating surfaces of the crankcase and front intermediate plate are clean, then apply sealant to both surfaces. Install the gasket on the crankcase, then install the intermediate plate.
6. Install the two center bolts and tighten them by hand, then temporarily install two more bolts. Tighten the center mounting bolts, remove the temporarily installed bolts.
