Identification of a new type of engine mount

Since February 1983 (production date code "DK") metal-rubber engine mounts have been introduced.
If vibrations occur inside the body, which manifest themselves during engine start-up and idling in vehicles manufactured before February 1983, the following steps should be taken.
1. Check if the engine idle speed is 800±25 rpm.
2. If, however, with the correct engine speed at idle, vibrations are transmitted inside the body, then the metal-rubber engine suspension mounts should be replaced.
3. Remove the upper part of the radiator shroud.
4. Unscrew the nut (A) securing the cushion to the engine mount bracket.
5. Suspend the engine using a hoist and unscrew the bolts securing the mount to the engine mount crossmember.
6. Remove the circular washers or retainers installed on the bolts of the new metal-rubber engine mount.
7. Install a new type of metal-rubber cushion and tighten the bolts that secure it to the engine mount crossmember to a torque of 50–60 Nm.
8. Lower the engine and tighten the nut securing the mount to the engine mount bracket.
Caution: Check that the large diameter support pads are in place.
9. Install the upper radiator shroud.
