Identification of a new type of engine mount

A - a nut for fastening the pillow to the engine mount bracket,
B - bolts for attaching the pillow to the engine mount bracket

Since February 1983 (production date code "DK") introduced metal-rubber cushions for engine mounts.

If vibrations appear inside the body, which appear during engine start-up and idling in cars manufactured before February 1983, proceed as follows.

1. Check if the engine idle speed is 800±25 rpm.

2. If, nevertheless, with the correct value of the engine idling speed, vibrations are transmitted inside the body, then the metal-rubber engine mounts should be replaced.

3. Remove the upper part of the radiator shroud.

4. unscrew the nut (A) fastening the pillow to the engine mount bracket.

5. Suspend the engine with a hoist and unscrew the bolts securing the cushion to the cross member of the engine mount.

6. Remove the O-rings or retainers installed on the bolts of the new metal-rubber engine mount.

7. Install a new type of metal-rubber cushion and tighten the bolts of its fastening to the cross member of the engine mount to a torque of 50–60 Nm.

8. Lower the engine and tighten the nut securing the airbag to the engine mount bracket.

Attention! Check if the large diameter support shims are in place.

9. Install the upper radiator shroud.
