Valve timing
Attention! Valve timing is given for the working valve clearance (0.20 mm for the intake valve and 0.25 mm for the exhaust valve).
| Engine | 1.6 dm³ LSD | 1.8 dm³ REB |
| OZD | 22° before TDC | 24° before TDC |
| ZZD | 54° after BDC | 64° after BDC |
| OZW | 64° before BDC | 64° before BDC |
| ZZW | 12° after TDC | 12° after TDC |
| OZD and ZZD – opening and closing of the intake valve, respectively | ||
| OZW and ZZW – opening and closing of the exhaust valve, respectively | ||
Camshaft
| Axial play of the shaft in the 1.6 dm³ LSD engine | 0.09 – 0.10 mm |
| Height of cams: | |
| – 1.6 dm³ LSD engine | 36.056 – 36.272 mm |
| – 1.8 dm³ REB engine | 36.26 – 36.60 mm |
Toothed belt
Checking the tension
New testing method - can be used for all engines.
Caution! Before checking, the engine must run for at least 1/2 hour.
1. Turn (in the direction of working rotation, holding the pulley bolt) the crankshaft two turns and set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC.
2. Turn the crankshaft about 60° in the opposite direction.
3. Using device 21.113, measure the tension of the toothed belt between the camshaft and intermediate shaft pulleys, which should be 4–5 units on the device scale.
