Models 1984
In March 1984, the 1.6 dm³ LCS (1.6 NS ONS Economy) ONS engine was replaced by a new, more economical LSD (1.6 NS ONS Economy) engine. The new ONS engine had increased cylinder block rigidity, and the cylinder diameter and piston stroke were changed, increasing the working volume by 4 cm³. The LSD engine, equipped with a new Weber two-chamber carburetor and having the same rated power as the LCS engine, was installed in cars with a Berlin body (L, GL and Ghia) and a combi (L and GL).
Models 1985
In September 1984, cars with a Berlin body went on sale, equipped with a 1.8 dm³ OHC engine of the REB type. This engine, equipped with a two-chamber Pierburg carburettor, has a rated power of 66 kW (90 hp) at 5100 rpm.
The 2.0 dm³ ONS engine has a two-chamber Weber carburetor and a new ESC II ignition control module (as in the 1.8 dm³ ONS engine). The power steering system has a new variable-ratio steering gear.
In December 1984, the Ford C 3 automatic transmission was replaced by a new four-speed automatic transmission, type A 4 LD.
The offer of cars with 1.6 dm³ ONS engines excludes the possibility of equipping them with an automatic transmission.
In January 1985, estate cars (GL and Ghia) equipped with a 1.8 dm³ OHC engine (used in Berlina-bodied cars since September 1984) went on sale.
In March 1985, the 1.8 dm³ ONS engine was installed in the Berlina and Kombi vehicles in the L version.
Models 1996
A new equipment version (Special) has been introduced in vehicles with a 1.6 dm³ engine.
The offer excludes GL version estate cars with a 1.6 dm³ engine, as well as estate cars equipped with an automatic transmission and a 1.8 dm³ engine.
In January 1986, the Ghia version of the Berlin cars was equipped with a 2.0 dm³ engine with fuel injection.
