O-rings
In all engines, a new type of sealing rings with an additional edge was systematically used to protect against dust ingress into the seal itself. At the same time, the chamfers of the necks are reduced at the ends of the crankshaft and intermediate shaft.
Attention! If it is necessary to remove the old style O-ring during installation, it must be replaced with a new style O-ring. PULLEYS
Since May 1983, two types of crankshaft pulleys have been used in ONS engines: cast iron or forged steel.
Pulleys are distinguished by signs used to set the ignition:
- on steel pulleys, the installation marks cover the angles: from 4°after TDC to 12°before TDC, and the numbers are located every 4°;
- on cast iron pulleys, setting marks cover angles: from 0° (TDC) up to 16°before TDC and they are dashes (there are no numbers); every 4°the dash of the designation is deeper than the neighboring ones.
