The coolant level should be checked approximately every 4 weeks and definitely before every long trip.

To top up the coolant level, including in warm weather, use only a mixture of antifreeze and soft, clean water.

Note: In order to be able to continue the journey, it is also possible, especially in summer, to top up with clean water. However, after this, it is necessary to bring the concentration of antifreeze in the coolant to the required level as soon as possible.

The coolant level when the engine is cold (liquid temperature is approximately +20°C) should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the expansion tank.

Before the coolant level drops to the MIN mark when the engine is cold, the level must be topped up.

To avoid engine damage, add cold coolant only when the engine is cold.

Caution: Open only the expansion tank cap, never open the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Place a rag on the radiator cap before opening it.


If the coolant level drops over a short period of time, visually check the cooling system for leaks.
