1. The coolant level changes depending on the engine temperature. When the engine is cold, the coolant level should be below the "MAX" mark on the expansion tank. When the engine is hot, the level may rise above the "MAX" mark.

2. Top up the antifreeze on a cold engine. Slowly unscrew the cap of the expansion tank to relieve the pressure in the cooling system. Add a mixture of water and antifreeze through the neck of the expansion tank until the level reaches the "MAX" mark.
