Car service intervals

If the vehicle is operated in dusty areas, when towing a trailer or trailer, at slow speeds or for short distances, more frequent service intervals are recommended.

Every 400 km or weekly

Check:

• condition of electrical wires and connectors;
• oil level 8 engine;
• coolant level;
• brake fluid level;
• glass washer fluid level;
• tire pressure;

Check the doors, boot, tailgate and hood and lube their hinges and locks.
Check the seat belts.
Check the condition of the body structure, paint and exterior trim.
Do a road test.
Check the transmission fluid level.

Please note: If the vehicle is used regularly for very short trips, the engine oil and filter should be changed every 8000 km or 6 months.

Every 32,000 km or two years

Follow all steps listed above and replace spark plugs - all engines except Zetec and Zetec-E.

Every 48,000 km or three years

Do all the steps listed above plus the following:

• Replace spark plugs - Zetec and Zetec-E engines only.
• Replace coolant.
• Replace the air filter element
• Check the emission control system.
• Change gear oil.
• Check handbrake adjustment.

Caution: If the vehicle is used regularly in dusty or dirty conditions, the air filter element should be replaced more frequently.

Every 96,000 km

Do all the steps listed above plus the following:

• Replace timing belt drive system.
• Replace fuel filter.

Every 3 years regardless of mileage

Change the brake fluid.

General information
