Replacing the pipeline and brake hose

            0

Pipes are used for the brake system connections, which, along with high-pressure brake hoses, connect the master brake cylinder to the four wheel brakes.

Brake hoses provide a flexible connection between fixed and moving vehicle parts.

Caution: If the brake lines need to be replaced, only original, pre-prepared pipes from FORD should be used. It is not allowed to make and bend brake pipelines on your own.

Withdrawal

Raise the car on the goats.

Unscrew the brake hose attachment at the brake caliper or wheel brake cylinder respectively and detach the hose.

Remove the retaining clips with pliers.

Disconnect the brake hose at the coupling connecting it to the brake pipeline.

Close the connection point of the pipeline in the direction of the master brake cylinder with a suitable plug or first suck off the brake fluid from the expansion tank using a siphon.

Installation

Install only factory-approved brake lines and hoses.

Screw the new brake hose to the brake line to 20 Nm. This tightening torque must also be ensured for all other connections to fixed pipelines.

Install new brake hose. so that it sags without twisting when the wheels are in a straight-line position. Lay the brake hose in the holder at the suspension strut and secure with a clip.

Screw the brake hose to the brake caliper with a new gasket to a torque of 35 Nm, while the fitting pin must enter the hole in the brake caliper.

After installation with unloaded wheels (the car is raised) check that the hoses follow all the movements of the wheels without touching anything.

Attention: Brake hoses must not come into contact with oil and fuel or be varnished or underbody anti-corrosion.

Remove air from the brake system.

Lower the car.
