Removal and installation of a brake disk

            0

In order to guarantee uniform braking on both sides, both brake discs must have the same wear pattern and roughness depth. Therefore, both brake discs must be replaced.

Attention: If the brake discs are replaced, new brake pads must also be installed at the same time.

Withdrawal

Remove the brake caliper and hang it on a wire to the spring so that the brake hose is not twisted or stretched.

If the brake disc is to be installed again, mark its position relative to the wheel hub with paint or scriber.

Remove the retaining clips from the disc and remove the brake disc from the wheel hub.

Installation

Remove protective varnish from new brake discs with a nitro thinner.

Slide the brake disc onto the hub and secure with retaining clips.

Attention: If the old brake disc is installed, install it in accordance with the marks made before removal.

Install the brake caliper.

Attach the wheels so that the marks applied before removal coincide. Tighten the wheels with nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts crosswise to 100 Nm.

Caution: Depress the brake pedal strongly repeatedly until strong resistance is felt. As a result of this, the automatic clearance adjustment mechanism for the brake pads of the parking brake system is adjusted.
