Removal and installation of a brake disk

Raise the front of the car and remove the front wheels.

Remove the bolts securing the caliper bracket to the suspension column. Do not disconnect the flexible brake hose from the caliper.

Hang the caliper on the wire. The caliper must not be hung on the brake hose.

Remove the brake disc mounting bolt from the hub and remove the brake disc.

For installation of a brake disk it is necessary to carry out the following operations.

Clean the seating surfaces of the disc and hub. Remove rust marks with sandpaper. Attach a new disc and check its fit to the hub. If possible, correct the settling of the disc on the hub.

Securely screw the disc to the hub with the mounting bolt.

Press the disc with the wheel bolts and measure the lateral runout of the disc with an indicator (pic. 6.8).



The maximum permissible lateral runout of the brake disc must not exceed 0.15 mm.

Install the brake caliper onto the new disc and secure it to the suspension column.

Always install a new brake disc with new brake pads.

Install the front wheels.
