Replacing the handbrake cable

Raise the rear of the car and remove the rear wheels.

Remove brake drums.

Disconnect the handbrake cable from the balance arm and remove it from the brake disc.

Remove the pins from the forks and the fasteners from the tension equalizer of both cable rods.

Disconnect the cable from the hand lever and remove it.

The handbrake cable is installed in the following order.

Attach the cable to the hand lever. Route the cable through the brake disc and secure to the balancing arms. Attach the cable sheath to the brake shields.

Attach the cable tension equalizer to the front cable.

Install and secure the brake drums.

Adjust the handbrake. To do this, loosen the hand brake lever and depress the main brake pedal. The pads will then return to their original position.

Adjust the cable length in such a way that the control pins can be moved 0.5-2mm (pic. 6.10).



Install the rear wheels, lower the car to the ground.
