Front handbrake cable (Escort 5)

Removal

Remove the handbrake cable from the handbrake lever.

Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands. Remove the exhaust system, unscrew and remove the heat shields from the underside of the vehicle.

Remove the spring clip and remove the rear portion of the front cable from the equalizer (see Fig. 9.56).



Remove the cable guide from the underside of the vehicle and remove the handbrake cable from underneath the vehicle.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
