Handbrake lever (Escort 5)

Place wheel chocks under the wheels. Remove the front seats. Remove the center console. Move aside the carpet near the handbrake lever. Disconnect the handbrake indicator light connector.

Remove the spring clip of the finger and remove the finger of the front handbrake cable (see Fig. 9.55).



Unscrew the 2 mounting bolts and remove the handbrake lever together with the intermediate plate.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
