Withdrawal



Attention. On vehicles equipped with a cruise control system, after replacing the brake signal, the cruise control system must be re-adjusted. In this regard, it is recommended to entrust the work on these vehicles to a service station.


Remove trim above driver's footwell.



Disconnect plug connector for brake signal. Turn the brake light switch counterclockwise and remove from the bracket.

Installation



Insert the brake light switch into the bracket hole. Raise the brake pedal and press the switch into the hole so that the pin enters completely. Lock the switch by turning to the right.

Set the brake pedal to its original position. Check clearance between brake light switch pin and stop. Prescribed value: 2 mm. Reinstall the brake light switch if necessary.

Attention: Incorrect adjustment of the brake light switch leads to increased wear of the rear wheel brake pads.


Connect the multi-pin plug connector of the switch.

Check the function of the switch.

Install the driver's footwell trim.

Withdrawal





Unbolt the lining above the driver's footwell.


Note: The cable tie rod for the engine compartment bonnet lock does not need to be disconnected. Disconnect the diagnostic socket plug and, where present, the on-board computer switch plug at the back.




Disconnect plug connector for brake signal. Turn the brake light switch to the right and remove.

Installation





Adjust switch. To do this, pull out the pusher to the stop.

Depress the brake pedal, insert the switch into the hole and secure by turning to the left. Slowly release the brake pedal. This ensures that the switch is correctly adjusted.

Connect the multi-pin plug connector of the switch.

Check the function of the switch.

Screw on trim for driver's footwell. Connect the diagnostic socket plug and, where present, the on-board computer switch plug at the rear beforehand.
