Removal


1. Remove the instrument panel.

2. Locate the switch near the top of the brake pedal and disconnect the electrical connector (see illustration).

3. Remove the rod retaining clip and nylon washer from the brake pedal stud and pull the rod far enough away from the outer hole of the switch to gain access to the stud. Pull up on the switch to remove it.

Installation


4. Position the switch so that it is not aligned with the vertical axis of the stem, and the groove on the inside of the switch fits onto the pedal stud. Place the stem and switch back onto the stud, then install the nylon washer and locking clip.

5. Connect the electrical wiring.

6. Install the under-dash panel.

7. Check the operation of the brake light elements.
