General information about the ABS system and rear disc brakes

            0

Select 1990 and later models equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS). Due to the complexity of the ABS system, most maintenance procedures are beyond the scope of this publication.

Warning: do not attempt to remove the brake master cylinder or hydraulic control unit (HCU) on vehicles equipped with ABS. This procedure requires a special tool. Do not bleed the master cylinder or HCU in the usual way, in this case it is not applicable. On vehicles with ABS, the rear brakes are disc brakes (see picture).
