Checking the brake light switch

            0

The most common cause of brake light failure is the brake light switch. It is attached to the brake pedal bracket. When you press the pedal, the switch stem comes out and closes the contacts that control the operation of the brake lights. The switch is checked as follows: disconnect the connector from the brake light switch and short the connector contacts with an additional wire. If the brake lights come on, the brake light switch is faulty.
