Most fuses and some relays are installed in the passenger compartment on the left under the steering wheel (Fig. 15.40). The fuse and relay box is located on the left rear side of the engine compartment behind the shock absorber strut. Before replacing a fuse or relay, turn off the ignition and all power consumers (e.g., radio).
SEQUENCE OF WORKS
1. Using tweezers (located in the fuse box cover) or pliers, carefully remove the blown fuse from the holder.
2. Insert a new fuse of the same amperage into the holder. Make sure the fuse is installed correctly.
3. If the new fuse blows immediately, check whether you have installed a fuse rated for a lower protection current. If the installed fuse blows again, check the electrical circuit protected by the fuse (Fig. 15.40, 15.42, 15.43 and Table 15.3, 15.4, 15.6).
