Checking the sound signal (Fiesta 4)

The horn terminal on the steering wheel is powered. If the horn does not work, check for power at the terminal. If there is power, press the horn button and check for power at the horn connector located behind the front shock absorber. If there is power, replace the horn.



SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Use a jack to lift the front left side of the car and secure it on supports. Apply the parking brake and place a block under the rear wheel.

2. Disconnect contact connector 1 (Fig. 15.29) from the horn.

3. Unscrew the nut and remove the horn 2 with bracket 3.

4. When installing a new horn, place a serrated spring washer under the nut.

5. Connect the contact connector.

6. Lower the vehicle.
