Checking the beep

The horns do their job in a modern car - protected from dirt and injected water - perfectly reliably: in the Mondeo, the horn is placed under the mudguard at the front of the car. As long as the cable connections and grounding contact are in order (check them with a test lamp or a multimeter), «survive» this horn is your Mondeo. If the beep suddenly «became silent», look for a fault in the horn contact in the steering wheel - it should «be» under current. However, in the era of automatic locking systems, this is easier said than done - we do not advise you to do this: the contact is under the driver's airbag. AND «life-saving» do not touch the air bag «fingers» even for the experienced hobbyist. In special workshops, also not all workers can handle airbags, but only specially trained fitters.
