Must be in public traffic - horn and hazard warning lights


Technical requirements for the operation of trackless transport (StVZO) require that every car has an audible alarm. In addition, the legislator «insists» with a hazard warning light that will keep your Mondeo safe in an emergency at the push of a button. Since such a system must be ready for operation at any time, it «suspended» to protect against possible short circuits directly to the electric circuit of the battery (terminal 30). In contrast, the turn signal system depends on the voltage at terminal 15 (ignition). However, before driving off, check your Mondeo's signaling devices.

Hazard Light System


  • With the ignition off, turn on the hazard warning system. All six direction indicators - together with the control light on the switch - should flash in the same rhythm.

Direction indicators


  • Turn on the ignition and press the turn signal lever. All indicators of the corresponding side of the vehicle must flash in the same rhythm, as well as the indicator lamp on the instrument panel.

Brake lights


  • Put your car «backwards» to the wall and then press the brake pedal - the wall should reflect the light of the brake lights. Similarly, you can check their functioning when standing in «line» cars.
