Removal
Open the engine compartment hood.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Caution: When the battery is disconnected, the contents of electronic memory devices, such as engine fault codes or radio codes, are erased. Before disconnecting, also read the instructions in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".
Mark the mounting position of the hinges. To do this, trace the hinges on the hood with a felt-tip pen.
Disconnect the washer fluid supply hose from the one-way valve "A" and unfasten the hose from the clamp "B".
Disconnect the engine compartment light plug connector.
Unscrew the "C" mounting bolts at the hinges and remove the hood. An assistant is required to perform the operation. Before loosening the hinge bolts, place a cloth between the hood and the body to protect the paintwork.
Installation
Place the engine compartment hood, screw in one mounting bolt on each side and support the hood with a support. Screw in the second mounting bolts and tighten by hand.
Align the hood at the hinges in accordance with the marks applied and tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 25 Nm.
Connect the plug connector of the engine compartment light.
Secure and connect the washer fluid supply hose.
Connect the battery ground (-) cable.
If available, set the clock and enter the anti-theft code for the radio.
Adjustment
Carefully close the hood and check whether the gap between the hood and the wing is the same and uniform on both sides. If necessary, loosen the hood mounting bolts slightly and move the hood accordingly. Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 Nm.
Secure the hood with its lock. If the hood does not lock, the hood lock must be adjusted.
Using a wrench and screwdriver, adjust the locking pin until it is fully engaged in the hood lock and the hood is flush with the top edge of the fenders. You may also need to adjust the position of the rubber bumpers.
By turning the rubber buffers in the direction of the arrows, adjust the height of the hood relative to the fenders.
