Removal



Raise the rear of the car onto jack stands.

Raise the rear of the car onto jack stands.


Model with a pronounced angle between the rear window and the luggage compartment: unscrew the 10 bolts securing the "arrow" and remove the mudguard.

Remove both quick release fasteners.

Remove the license plate light and disconnect its connector, see p. 172.

Using a slotted head wrench, unscrew the bumper mounting bolts (for a model with a gently lowering rear part of the body: 2 bolts); for a model with a pronounced angle between the rear window and the luggage compartment: 4 bolts).



Remove the bumper from the car. At the same time, release both side pins and the bumper holder.

Place the bumper on a clean, soft surface.

Installation



Note: If a new bumper is installed, the holder must be adjusted so that the distance from the top edge of the bumper to the top point of the holder is 109 mm.


Move the bumper horizontally, making sure that the side pins and holder are in the correct position.

Connect the plug connector of the license plate light and fix the light in the bumper, see p. 172.

Screw in the bumper mounting bolts and tighten to 20 Nm.

Attach and secure both quick-release fasteners.

Model with a pronounced angle between the rear window and the luggage compartment, attach and bolt on the mudguard.

Lower the car.
