To remove the hood lock do the following.
1. Open the hood and place it on the support.
2. Remove the radiator grille (see "Removing and installing the radiator grille").
NOTE: It is necessary to remove the radiator grille in order to disconnect the drive shaft from the hood lock.
3. Remove the two bolts securing the hood lock to the engine compartment frame.
4. Press the two lock latches together…
5. …and detach the lock from the frame.
6. Squeeze the harness connector lock…
7. …disconnect the shoe from the lock and remove the lock.
8. Install the hood lock in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the hood lock, lubricate its locking mechanism with a consistent lubricant, such as lithol.
9. If after installation the lock does not lock clearly or is difficult to unlock, adjust its position. Loosen the bolts that secure the lock and move it vertically within the oval holes in the housing until it works clearly.
To remove the hood lock latch do the following.
1. Open the hood and place it on the support.
2. Unscrew the two bolts securing the latch to the hood reinforcement and remove the latch by pulling it out through the window in the reinforcement.
3. Install the hood lock latch in the reverse order of removal.
4. If after installing the latch the lock locks with an impact, loosen the bolts securing the latch and, by moving it horizontally in the desired direction within the oval holes of the housing, achieve impact-free locking of the lock.
To remove the hood lock drive do the following.
1. Remove the radiator grille (see "Removing and installing the radiator grille").
2. On the back side of the lining, press the two fasteners…
3. …and remove the drive from the trim socket.
4. Install the hood lock drive in the reverse order of removal.
5. If it is necessary to replace the factory emblem, which also serves as the cover of the hood lock drive cylinder, unscrew the emblem mounting screw and remove it together with the spring.
6. Install the factory emblem in the reverse order of removal, after first winding its spring a few turns.
