The body of Ford Focus II type cars is a four-door sedan, five- and three-door hatchback or a five-door station wagon, of a supporting structure, all-metal. The body frame includes the base, sidewalls, roof and parts interconnected by electric welding (point, seam and arc). The body is a non-separable structure with sufficient rigidity, and carries all the units of the car, attachments of the body and interior details.

Attachments include side doors, hood, trunk lid or tailgate, front fenders, front and rear bumpers. Side doors, hood, trunk lid or tailgate are hinged to the body, front fenders are bolted.

The side doors are equipped with sliding windows: cars in the Ambiente, Comfort and Trend trim levels are equipped with power windows for the front doors, and in the Ghia configuration, the rear doors are also equipped. To protect against side impact, the doors are reinforced with a special impact-resistant beam.

Glass side doors and sidewalls (on cars with hatchback and station wagon bodies), as well as rear window (tailgate glass) bent, polished, hardened. Windshield glass is three-layer. Windshield glass, rear window (tailgate glass), side glass (on cars with hatchback and station wagon bodies) glued into the corresponding openings of the body. Windshield glass and rear window (tailgate glass) equipped with electrical heating.

Both bumpers are plastic, reinforced with metal beams. The front and rear bumpers are painted in the color of the body, attached to the body with bolts, screws and plastic clips. The radiator lining is removable, attached with caps to the frame of the engine compartment.

The front seats are separate, with mechanical adjustment of their longitudinal position and backrest angle. Ghia vehicles have an additional adjustment of the lumbar support in the back of the driver's seat. The seat headrests are easily removable, height-adjustable, mounted on the backs of all seats. The Ambiente, Comfort and Trend trims have two headrests in the rear seatback, while the Ghia trims have three headrests.

The rear seat includes two cushions and two backrests. If necessary, the rear seat cushions and backrests are folded in parts to increase the volume of the luggage compartment.

Rear seat belts for extreme passengers inertial. A waist belt is provided for the middle passenger.

In order to improve passive safety, the car is equipped with an SRS system. It includes airbags and front seat belt pretensioners that are triggered at the time of an accident.

The car interior is equipped with an energy-absorbing instrument panel, a cigarette lighter, an ashtray, sun visors, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (depending on configuration), rearview mirror, handrails.

The volume, temperature, direction and intensity of air flows are regulated by switches installed in the control unit for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

Exhaust ventilation of the body is carried out through deflectors with valves that are installed under the rear bumper.

The car is equipped with a detachable towing eye that can be installed both in front and behind the car, as well as mudguards on all wheels.

USEFUL ADVICE: Do not cover the body with a cover made of dense material during a long parking of the car. A rain-soaked cover creates steam when heated in the sun «bath», the body paint underneath may peel off and swell. In addition, under gusts of wind, the cover moves and erases the paint on the protruding parts of the body.

GOOD ADVICE: Do not put rubber objects on the body. After a while, the rubber will leave on the surface (especially light) indelible stains.

USEFUL ADVICE: If rubber products on the body of your car have lost their marketable appearance over time, wipe them with a hand cream containing glycerin or silicone grease sold in auto parts stores.

TIP: From time to time run a thin metal plate between the side glass and the door rubber to remove dust and grit and protect the glass from scratches.

USEFUL ADVICE: After washing, be sure to remove the rubber mats and dry the interior. Moisture under rugs is the main cause of floor corrosion.
