Pistons



The pistons are made of light alloy, without grooves on the conductive part, with a cast invar ring, limiting thermal changes in size. In the upper part there are three grooves for piston rings. The axis of the piston pin hole is offset relative to the piston axis. Pistons are supplied in sets together with pins and connecting rods.

Installation method: The arrow on the bottom of the piston should point towards the front of the engine (towards the timing drive).

The cross flow radiator has tanks made of artificial material.

The expansion tank is made of transparent material and has markings indicating the maximum and minimum coolant levels.

Opening pressure of the excess pressure valve in the expansion tank cap: 120 – 140 kPa.

Coolant pump



The centrifugal coolant pump, located on the front wall of the cylinder block, is driven by a V-belt together with the generator.

Fan



A fan with an electric drive from a temperature sensor located in the radiator drain plug.

Temperature at the beginning of opening: 85–89°C.
