1. Lubricate the valve guides with fresh engine oil.
2. Insert the valve into its place.
3. Install the lower spring support plate onto the valve.
4. Wrap a piece of adhesive tape around the grooves for the crackers at the top of the valve to prevent damage to the working edges of the valve stem seals when installing them.
5. Lubricate the valve stem seal with fresh engine oil and, using a tubular mandrel, install it onto the valve guide.
6. Remove the adhesive tape from the valve stem.
7. Repeat this operation for the remaining valves.
8. Install the springs and upper spring plates.
9. While maintaining the valves in the closed position, use a special device to compress the valve springs and install the valve crackers.
10. Install the hydraulic valve lifters in place.
11. Install the intake manifold and exhaust manifold in place.
