1. Place the cylinder head in the front and rear parts on two wooden blocks.

2. Remove the intake manifold together with the fuel system and coolant drain pipe (if not removed earlier).

3. Unscrew the thermal jacket and then the exhaust manifold.

4. Unscrew the mounting studs of both manifolds.

5. Remove the hydraulic valve lifters and place them in appropriate containers with oil for subsequent reinstallation in their places (if they were not removed earlier).

6. Compress the valve springs in order with a special device and remove the crackers securing the upper spring retaining plate. Remove the upper plate and valve springs, paying attention not to damage the valve stems.

7. Remove the valves from the combustion chamber side.

8. Remove the oil deflector caps from the valve guides.
