Cylinder head assembly
1 - Cylinder head, 2 - Head gasket, 3 - Combustion swirl chamber, 4 - Locking ball, 5 - Exhaust valve seat, 6 - Inlet valve seat, 7 - Valve guides, 8 - Cylinder head cover, 9 - Head cover gasket, 10 - Oil filler plug, 11 - Coolant outlet pipe, 12 - Coolant temperature sensor, 13 - Automatic cold start thermostat, 14 - Thermostat housing
Caution! When removing the cylinder head, the engine must be cold (wait 6 hours after turning off the engine).
1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery and remove the air filter.
2. Remove the sheet casing from the bottom of the engine, drain the coolant (using a suitable container). Disconnect the cooling system hoses: the lower one from the radiator and the upper one from the pump.
3. Disconnect the pipes from the expansion tank of the cooling system, from the cylinder head, from the interior heating system and the vacuum pipe from the vacuum pump.
4. Disconnect the wire and current bus from the glow plugs, as well as the remaining electrical wires.
5. Disconnect the idle speed control cables from the engine cylinder head.
6. Disconnect the fuel injection lines and return lines from the injectors, unscrew the injectors and glow plugs from the cylinder head.
7. Remove the vacuum pump together with the drive V-belt and remove the generator.
8. Disconnect the generator mounting frame from the intake manifold and remove the V-belt.
9. Disconnect the oil supply line from the cylinder head and the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
10. Remove the cylinder head cover and valve lever shaft.
11. Remove the push rods.
12. Unscrew the cylinder head mounting bolts in the reverse order of their tightening (see Fig. Cylinder head bolt tightening sequence).
13. Remove the cylinder head together with the manifolds: intake and exhaust. Remove the head gasket.
