Removal and installation of the oil pump

            0

The oil pump is removed for repair when its supply is reduced, causing a constant drop in oil pressure in the engine lubrication system, as well as when oil leaks through the gasket.

You will need: All the tools needed to remove the timing belt and engine oil sump.

1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.

2. Drain engine oil (see «Changing engine oil and oil filter»).

3. Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to the TDC position of the compression stroke (see «Setting the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position of the compression stroke»).

4. Remove the timing belt and tension roller (see «Replacing the timing belt and its tension roller»).

Attention! After removing the timing belt, it is forbidden to turn the crankshaft and camshafts, as the pistons can damage the valves.

5. Remove the engine oil sump (see «Replacing the oil sump seal»).

6. Turn out two bolts A fixing the oil receiver to the oil softener and one bolt b to the oil pump..

7.... and remove the oil receiver.

8. The oil receiver flange is sealed with a rubber ring. A heavily compressed, hardened or torn ring must be replaced, otherwise the oil pump flow may drop sharply due to a leak in the connection.

Note. Every time you remove the oil receiver, be sure to flush its mesh with gasoline or kerosene to remove varnish deposits from the oil.

9. Turn out eight bolts and remove the oil pump.

10. Install the oil pump in the reverse order of removal.
