Note: Under severe operating conditions in a large city or very dusty areas, change the oil and filter every 10,000 km.
You will need: engine oil, oil filter, clean rag, container (at least 5 l) for draining oil, 13 mm wrench, special wrench for unscrewing the oil filter.
Note: Drain the oil after driving while the engine is still hot. If the engine is cold, start it and warm it up to operating temperature.
Caution: Do not pour used oil onto the ground.

1. Unscrew the oil filler cap.

2. Clean the engine oil pan drain plug with a wire brush and then with a rag.

3. Unscrew the drain plug, having first placed a container underneath to collect the drained oil, and drain the oil.
Warning! Be careful: the oil is hot!
4. Screw the cap back on.

5. Use a special key to remove the oil filter…
Note: The oil filter is installed on the front of the engine block in the area of the 3rd cylinder.

6. …and, turning it with your hand, remove it.
Note: Be careful when removing the oil filter as there is some oil left in the filter.

Note: Use a special key to unscrew the oil filter. If you don't have such a key or a similar puller, punch the filter housing with a screwdriver and use it as a lever to unscrew the filter. Punch the filter as close to the bottom as possible so as not to damage the nipple.
Note: You can also use a strip of coarse sandpaper folded in half, wrapping it around the filter and pushing it out of place with your hands.

7. If the O-ring on the new filter is not coated with grease or talc by the manufacturer, lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil…

8. …and screw the filter into place (by hand, without using a tool) by 3/4 of a turn from the moment the ring touches the cylinder block flange.

9. Fill with clean engine oil (see "Checking the level and adding oil to the engine").

10. Replace the oil filler cap.
11. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes (the low oil pressure warning light should go out 2–3 seconds after starting the engine). While the engine is running, check for oil leaks from the drain plug and oil filter. Stop the engine, check the oil level, add oil if necessary, tighten the plug and filter.
