General equipment: Steel ruler.
Removal
1. Remove the oil pan. For more information, refer to the Oil Pan chapter in this section.
2.
CAUTION: Do not remove the crankshaft pulley at this stage.
Using a special tool, remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.

3. Remove the accessory drive belt pulley.

4. Remove the oil pick-up tube.

CAUTION: Remove the oil pump only together with the crankshaft pulley.
CAUTION: Do not remove the crankshaft pulley from the oil pump after removing the oil pump assembly.
Remove the oil pump assembly.
- Discard the sealed oil pump mounting bolts as they are no longer needed.
- Discard the gasket as it is no longer needed.

Installation
1.
CAUTION: Install the oil pump only with the crankshaft pulley.
CAUTION: When installing a new oil pump, do not remove the crankshaft pulley or clamp before installation.
NOTE: Install a new oil pump gasket.
NOTE: The new oil pump is supplied complete with the crankshaft front oil seal and crankshaft pulley.
NOTE: Do not tighten the bolts at this stage.
Install the oil pump assembly.

2. Using the special tool, tighten the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt. When installing a new oil pump, remove the assembly clamp.

NOTE: The oil pump sealing flange must be within ±0.20 mm of the lower sealing flanges of the cylinder block.
Using a suitable ruler, align the oil pump and cylinder block sealing flanges.

4.
NOTE: Install new sealed bolts in positions 1 and 3.
Tighten the oil pump mounting bolts (engine shown removed for clarity). Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

5.
NOTE: Make sure the O-ring is installed correctly.
Install the oil pickup tube.

6. Install the accessory drive belt pulley.

7. Install the oil pan. For more information, refer to the Oil Pan chapter in this section.
