Camshaft tappets — removal and installation

Special tool

	Adapter for 303-035 (Support blocks) 303-035-01 (21-005B-01)
	Air Supply Adapter (to Cylinder Head) 303-363 (21-157)
	Valve Spring Compressor 303-461 (21-194)
	Adapter for 303-461 303-461-01 (21-194-01)

Removal

1. Remove the cylinder head cover. For more information, refer to the Cylinder Head Cover chapter in this section.

2. Remove the spark plugs (the engine is shown removed for clarity).



3. Using a special tool, supply compressed air to the appropriate cylinder at a pressure of approximately 7-10 bar.



4. Install the special tool.



5. Using the special tool, remove the exhaust valve lifter.



6. Using the special tool, remove the intake valve lifter.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
