Removal
All cars
1. Remove the clutch. For additional information, refer to Section 308-01A / 308-01B / 308-01C.
2. Remove the flywheel.
3. Remove the adapter plate.
Cars with air conditioning system.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.
5. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor from the support bracket and secure it to the side.
All cars
6. Drain the engine oil. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.

NOTE: Inspect the oil drain plug seal for damage. Install a new drain plug and seal if necessary.
Install the drain plug.
8. Remove the oil pan. Discard the gasket as it is no longer needed.
Installation
All cars
1. Using a suitable spatula, remove all traces of sealant or gasket residue from the mating surfaces.

CAUTION: Install the oil pan gasket within five minutes of applying the sealant.
Apply sealant to the joints of the cylinder block.

NOTE: Do not fully tighten the oil pan mounting bolts at this stage.
Using a suitable steel ruler, align the oil pan with the cylinder block.
- Maximum "retreat" of the oil pan: 0.25 mm.
- Maximum oil pan protrusion: 0.10 mm.
4. Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts in the sequence shown (Stage 1).
5. Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts in the sequence shown (Stage 2).
Cars with air conditioning system.
6. Attach the air conditioning (A/C) compressor to the support bracket.
7. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.
All cars
8. Install the adapter plate.
9. Install the flywheel.
10. Install the clutch. For additional information, refer to Section 308-01A / 308-01B / 308-01C.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Fill the engine with engine oil. For more information, refer to the Specifications chapter in this section.
