Valve Cover — Removal and Installation (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the spark plug connectors (the engine is shown removed for clarity).



2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the cylinder head cover.



3. Disconnect the plug connector of the electronic ignition (EI) unit.



4. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.





5. Remove the cylinder head cover. Disconnect the supply and return fuel line mounting bracket from the cylinder head cover.

Installation

1.

NOTE: If necessary, install a new cylinder head cover gasket.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
