Intake manifold — removal and installation

Withdrawal

WARNING: Do not smoke or walk with a lit cigarette or any type of open flame while working on or near fuel related items. In such situations, there are always highly flammable mixtures that can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.

1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Section 310-00 for more information.

2. Disconnect ground wire from battery. Refer to Section 414-01 for more information.

3. Disconnect the fuel supply and return quick couplers. Refer to Section 310-00 for more information.



4. Disconnect the air filter outlet pipe from the throttle body.



5. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body and position it to the side.

• 1.Disconnect the accelerator cable outer sheath from the throttle body bracket.
• 2.Disconnect the inner throttle cable from the throttle body lever.

6. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum line from the intake manifold.



7. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation hose (PCV) from the intake manifold. Release the coolant hose from the clamp.



8. Disconnect the plug connector of the engine wiring harness.




9. Disconnect the plug connector of the camshaft position sensor (SMR).



10. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (ECT).



11. Disconnect the plug connector of the mass air flow sensor (MAF).



12. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.


13. Turn out the bottom bolts of fastening of an inlet collector.



14. Lower the car.

15. Remove the intake manifold.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install a new intake manifold gasket if necessary.

Install the intake manifold.



2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.


3. Install the intake manifold lower bolts (for clarity, the engine is shown removed).



4. Lower the car.

5. Connect the plug connector of the mass air flow sensor (MAF).



6. Connect the plug connector of the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT).



7. Connect the plug connector of the camshaft position sensor (CMP).



8. Connect the plug connector of the engine wiring harness.



9. Connect the positive crankcase ventilation hose (PCV) to the intake manifold. Secure the coolant hose.



10. Connect the vacuum line of the brake booster to the intake manifold.



11. Connect the accelerator cable to the throttle body.

• 1. Connect the inner throttle cable to the throttle body lever.
• 2. Connect the accelerator cable outer sheath to the throttle body bracket.

12. Connect the air filter outlet pipe to the throttle body.



13. Connect fuel supply and return fuel quick couplers. Refer to Section 310-00 for more information.



14. Connect ground wire to battery. Refer to Section 414-01 for more information.
