Removal


1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.

2. Using a special tool, remove the crankshaft pulley.



3. Using the special tool, remove the front crankshaft oil seal. Discard the oil seal as it is no longer needed.



Installation


1.
NOTE: The pulley, mounting sleeve, housing and sealing lip must not be coated with oil.



NOTE: Install a new crankshaft front oil seal.


NOTE: The new front crankshaft oil seal is supplied assembled on the mounting sleeve.


Install the front oil seal onto the crankshaft.
  • 1. Install the mounting sleeve assembly with the seal onto the crankshaft pulley.
  • 2. Install the front oil seal onto the crankshaft pulley.
  • Remove the mounting sleeve.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the oil seal during installation, do not pull out the crankshaft pulley more than 3 mm.


Using a special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.



3. Remove the special tool.

4. Using the special tool, tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt.



5. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.
