Special tool


Allen wrench for holding flanges 205-072 (15-030A)
Oil Seal Remover 303-112 (21-051)
Oil seal installer 303-656A (21-233A)

Withdrawal


1. Remove the accessory drive belt. See Section 303-05 for more information.

2. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft pulley.



3. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft front oil seal. Discard the oil seal as it is no longer needed.



Installation


1.
NOTE: The pulley, locating sleeve, housing and lip must not be covered with oil.



NOTE: Install a new crankshaft front oil seal.


NOTE: A new crankshaft front oil seal is shipped assembled on a locating sleeve.


Install the front oil seal to the crankshaft.
  • 1.Install the grommet assembly with seal on the crankshaft pulley.
  • 2.Install the front oil seal on the crankshaft pulley.
  • Remove the mounting sleeve.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the oil seal during installation, do not pull out the crankshaft pulley more than 3mm.


Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.



3. Remove the special tool.

4. Using the special tool, tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt.



5. Put on the accessory drive belt. See Section 303-05 for more information.
