You will need a 12 mm wrench.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the air filter (see "Removal and installation the air filter").

3. Remove the bolt securing the upper timing belt cover to the cylinder head cover.

4. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

5. Remove the high-voltage wire tips from the spark plugs.

6. Unscrew the air filter holders from the cylinder head cover mounting studs…

7. …and remove the holders.

8. Loosen the nut securing the oxygen concentration sensor wiring harness connector bracket…

9. …and remove the bracket from the stud bolt.

10. Remove the three bolts securing the cylinder head cover…

11. …nine cylinder head cover mounting bolts…

12. …and remove the lid.

13. Remove the old gasket from the grooves of the cylinder head cover.

14. Clean the cylinder head surface from any remaining old gasket.

15. Install the cylinder head cover with a new gasket and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the cover mounting bolts and studs in the order shown in Fig. 5.2, in two stages:
- Stage 1 - Pre-tightening to 3.0 Nm (0.3 kgf·m);
- Stage 2 – final tightening to a torque of 9.0 Nm (0.9 kgf·m).
