You will need a 12 mm wrench.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

3. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the two camshaft position sensors (see "Checking and replacing engine management system sensors").

4. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the two valve timing control valves…

5. …unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the phase adjustment valves.

6. Remove the high-voltage wire tips from the spark plugs.

7. Unscrew the twelve bolts securing the cylinder head cover, remove the cover and the gasket installed underneath it.
8. Clean the cover grooves and the mating surface of the cylinder head from the remains of the old gasket.

9. Install the cylinder head cover with a new gasket and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the cover mounting bolts in the order shown in Fig. 5.4, in two stages:
Stage 1 - Pre-tightening to 3.0 Nm (0.3 kgf·m);
Stage 2 – final tightening to a torque of 9.0 Nm (0.9 kgf·m).
